FAQs

Answers to the most common questions about citizenship and residency by investment.

Eligibility

Who is eligible for citizenship or residency by investment?

Most programmes require you to be at least 18, have a clean criminal record, pass government due diligence, and have legally sourced funds for the qualifying investment.

Can I include my family?

Yes. Most programmes allow you to include your spouse and dependent children, and many also allow dependent parents or grandparents.

Do I need to speak the local language?

Generally no. The citizenship and residency programmes we advise on do not require a language test, with limited exceptions.

Will a previous visa refusal affect my application?

Not necessarily. A prior refusal does not automatically disqualify you, but it should be disclosed and addressed properly. We assess this during your consultation.

Citizenship

What is citizenship by investment?

It is a legal route by which a country grants citizenship to individuals who make an approved economic contribution or investment, along with their eligible family members.

Is dual citizenship allowed?

Many countries permit dual citizenship, though the rules depend on your country of origin. We can advise on your specific situation.

Do I have to live in the country to keep my citizenship?

For most citizenship-by-investment programmes there is no residence requirement before or after approval.

Is the citizenship passed to my children?

Yes. Citizenship obtained through these programmes is generally held for life and passed on to future generations.

Residency

What is the difference between residency and citizenship?

Citizenship typically grants a passport and the full rights of a national, often for life. Residency grants the right to live in a country and can, in many cases, lead to citizenship over time.

Can residency lead to citizenship?

In many countries, yes. After a qualifying period of residency — and subject to local requirements — you may be eligible to apply for citizenship.

How much time must I spend in the country?

It varies by programme. Some require only a few days per year, while others have more substantial physical-presence requirements. We'll match a programme to your lifestyle.

Process

How long does the process take?

Timelines vary by programme — from a couple of months for some Caribbean citizenships to a year or more for certain residency and EU routes.

What documents are required?

Typically a valid passport, birth certificate, police clearance, proof of funds and a medical certificate. We guide you through every document and its certification.

When do I pay the investment?

For many programmes the qualifying investment is made only after your application is approved in principle, protecting your funds.

Are these programmes legal and secure?

Yes. The programmes we advise on are established in law by national governments, and every application is subject to official due diligence.
